The psyllium husk is a portion of the plant plantago psyllium, which flourishes in the Middle East. The husks of the plant are dried, chopped, or powdered to be combined with additional ingredients or to standalone.
Psyllium seeds and husks are commercially use for the production of mucilage. Mucilage is edible and commonly used for its demulcent properties. Demulcents are agents that form a soothing film over a mucous membrane, relieving minor pain and inflammation.
Some people experience a severe allergic reaction to psyllium husk, so Orovo recommends that you consult a physician before you begin taking health supplement blend that contains psyllium husk. If you choose to ingest psyllium husk, it is imperative that you stay hydrated, drinking six to seven 8 oz. glasses of water per day.
