Chitosan

Chitosan is a positively charged fiber found in shellfish. When ingested, chitosan has been shown to link to fats in the digestive tract, lowering cholesterol absorption rate.

Description

The amino acids in Chitosan are a positively charged group that bind to negatively charged ions found in fats and cholesterols. Chitosan is a highly effective bioadhesive, absorbing up to 300 fat calories when taken before meals.

Benefits

  • Chitosan’s positive charge not only binds to, but attracts harmful fatty acids
  • Absorbs as high as six times its weight in body fat
  • Links to fats in the small intestine, bonding with them before they can be absorbed into the blood stream
  • A successfully researched hemostatic agent
  • Its ability to induce blood clotting has made it a new component in modern bandages

Safety Notes

Ingesting only the correct dosage is very important with Chitosan. DO NOT consume more then six grams a day, preferably in doses immediately before meals.

Its propensity to bind with negatively charged ions allows it link to fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K). If taken in higher quantities, chitosan can reduce the bodies absorption of these essential nutrients. Orovo recommends that you consult a physician before you begin taking any new health supplement blend.
